Garden Of The Gods

WOMEN OF STRENGTH!

We are lucky to have such great people to call our family. Lynn had business in Colorado and he and Vickie were able to spend a few short days with us. We took advantage of Monday and went to Colorado Springs to a beautiful area called Garden Of The Gods. It is another reminder of the beauties that the Lord has blessed us with here upon this earth and the special friends that we call family!

Grandparents Day Celebration!

We took 5 of the kids to Winslow Court for a "western" celebration. The kids all had a great time. There were indians dancing and here you see Parley and Blake trying out their roping skills with a cowboy!

GO PARLEY!!!!!

Blake and Brianna wanted to dress the part. Ethan did not want to dress but he did want to be in the picture!

Labor Day Hike With Grandma & Grandpa

Last night we came home after our weekly dinner with the family and brought Parley, Blake, Brianna and Ethan home with us. Let me just say right now that if there are any typing or spelling errors it is from the LACK of sleep and all the hard work that goes into taking care of 4 small kids! I do not know how I did it! OHHH wait I was 25 years younger! We all took baths and then off to bed. Brianna was asleep at 10:30. Blake and Parley around 11:00 and Ethan (3) held out the longest at 11:30! It was great to wake up to the next morning (although it was only 6.5 hours later)to sounds of all the kids giggling and playing. Grandpa fixed us a great protein breakfast for the hike. Bacon and eggs with orange juice and we were off to hike up to the Castle Rock! It was a hot but beautiful hike and I was very proud of them all they all walked the whole time.45 minutes up and 45 back. We saw lots of cactus and rocks we discovered that everyone bring their dogs with them.We saw 2 trains the we could see for miles how long they were. Ethan loves trains and the expression on his face to hear the whistle and see the train was price less .The view at the top was spectacular. To get all the way up to where the flag is, takes some serious rock climbing for older kids so we will do that in a few years! After the long hike we went to Dairy Queen to get a blizzard of our choice! YUMMMMM. The rest of the day we played on the new playground in the back yard and with all the cool toys that are in the playroom. Brian and I have decided that we are going to make this a tradition! Today was a day that was filled with experiences that I have dreamed of having with my grandchildren. To sum it up just as Parley said he was talking about people being obsessed with things and I asked him, "What am I obsessed with Parley?" His answer........US!
